Before you start

Setting dmrabbit up takes a few minutes. Two of these are worth checking first, because they are the things that stop people halfway.

An Instagram professional account

Your account must be a Business or Creator account. A personal account cannot be connected, because Instagram does not allow tools to read or answer comments and messages on one.

Switching is free and takes under a minute in the Instagram app, under Settings, then Account type and tools. You can switch back at any time.

An email address you can open now

There is no password. Signing in means receiving a six digit code and a link, so you need to be able to open your email while you sign up.

Something to answer

Automations reply to real activity, so the fastest way to see dmrabbit work is to have a post that already gets comments, or to send yourself a DM from another account once your first automation is live.

What you do not need

A Facebook Page. Many Instagram tools require you to link one. dmrabbit does not: you sign in with Instagram directly.

What it will ask for

When you connect your account, Instagram asks you to approve four permissions: your profile information, comments, messages, and your posts and their performance. All four are required, and Instagram's own screen lets you switch them off individually. If any is missing, the connection is refused and you will be asked to try again. See Connecting Instagram.
