Staying connected

Access renews by itself. What happens on the rare occasion it does not.

Once connected, your account stays connected. You do not need to reconnect on a schedule.

Access renews automatically

Instagram issues access that lasts about 60 days. dmrabbit renews it well before it expires, every day, without you doing anything. If you have read that Instagram tools need reconnecting every two months, that is what this handles.

When Instagram refuses access

Occasionally Instagram revokes access anyway. This usually means one of:

  • You removed dmrabbit from your Instagram account settings.
  • You changed your Instagram password or account type.
  • Instagram required a security check on the account.

What dmrabbit does about it

When Instagram refuses, dmrabbit disconnects the account and emails you. Your automations stop until you reconnect. Nothing is deleted.

Reconnecting takes the same few seconds as the first time, and everything resumes: your automations, your conversations, your contacts.

How to tell

A disconnected account is shown as disconnected on your dashboard. If your automations have stopped and you are not sure why, this is the first thing to check.
