When you run out
What stops, what keeps working, and when it resets.
The two allowances are independent, so running out of one leaves the other working.

You are warned twice before it happens
At 80% and again at 100% of each allowance you get a message in the dashboard and an email. Each warning names which allowance it is about, because only that one is affected.
That is at most four in a month, and each is sent once.
When it resets
Allowances reset at the start of each calendar month, in UTC. Paying yearly does not change this: a yearly plan is how you pay, not a yearly allowance.
Nothing is charged for a message that did not send
If a reply fails, the allowance is given back. A rising failure count is not quietly eating your quota.
What running out looks like
Automations record the attempt as failed with the reason, and it appears in the failure split on your analytics. Replying by hand shows a message telling you which allowance is exhausted.
